All his mates were playing rugby, hurling and Gaelic football in school. The rugby coach back then didn’t understand why the biggest guy in school wouldn’t play ball. Instead, winter upon winter, Alastair Mennie was drawn to the freezing North Atlantic ocean. His search was for the waves that most surfers will only ever dream about.
