Newquay Boardmasters 2010

After a self inflicted horrific start to the 2010 Relentless Boardmasters in Newquay we were happy with the weekend.

Sure, we didn’t get the sunshie, warm weather and consistent pumping swells of the US Open of Surfing, but we managed to get through the event and watch the New Zealand surfer Jay Quinn narrowly get beat French Surfer Marc Lacomare in the final Sunday afternoon.

This weekends Boardmasters was not just about the Surfing though, although we managed to get a few nice pictures of the action (both in the waves and on the beach). The weekend also consisted of 2 days of fantastic music and Vans off the Wall performances.

Our musical choice for the weekend was definitely Xavier Rudd, however the Saturday afternoon spent infront of “The View Stage” was not to be missed. As per our earlier trip to Glastonbury this year, it’s often the smaller stages that you will see your favourite acts.

The English surfers didn’t disappoint this year either, with this very fine air being launched on the first wave we saw after arriving on at the beach on Friday.

Russell Winter also performed very well and was a crowd favourite until he was beaten in the Semi Finals by the eventual winner Lacomare.

Friday afternoon coincided with a Nuts Magazine shoot, and we were lucky enough to be on location to get pictures of these gorgeous hot bikini models.
